Answer:

Map usually gives more information than a globe. In a map, it is possible to study only a part of the earth such as a country, states, districts, towns and villages.

It is considerably more difficult to fold a large globe into the the glove compartment of a car, or show details in sufficient accuracy over smaller distances in a globe that is of convenient shape.

Large scale maps, 1:5000 or 1:10000 would require orbs with radius of 1200 and 600 meters to potray the relevant information in scale. Even maps at the 1:200 000, your regular road map size, you would need a globe with 30m radius.

So detailed maps are much more portable than detailed globes, by much i mean incomparably more convenient and portable.

Map is a scaled down and simplified version of reality, projected to a flat surface.

Mapping errors are less inconvenient than hauling enormous balls around.
