Indeed, our grandparents are a huge blessing to us. Grandparents are one of the best creations of God. They tend to love you more than anyone on the Earth.
When I was a child, I only thought grandparents were created by God to shower all the prayers, blessings and all the gifts a child ever wishes for. As a child, I had all the wonderful memories of crawling and climbing up and down my grandparents. Sometimes, I thought that these grey haired humans are a form of God who would fulfil my every tiny wish. I had my favourite bicycle, my favourite toy, my favourite shoes, all because of my generous grandparents.
They always seemed like the epitomes of beauty, good looks and punctuality. I always wondered how they are always ahead in time. I always wondered how my grand dad’s shoes always keep shining like a mirror and how my grand mom’s outfit is as clean as the bright sun. I always wished to look as beautiful as my grandmom which is not really possible and I always wondered how God wanted them to be so pretty. They are the people who really don’t teach me all the goodness, but the ones who actually show me how good life could be.
My every examination or any important day in my life cannot start without the prayers of my grandparents. I believe they are so good at heart and they quite just know how to ask God to give me strength. All my birthdays are my favourite because of the way they make it special. I love to eat at home quite because of the way they prepare the foods. Their traditional ways of living make me smile at them but aren’t they really interesting.
The other quality that struck me about them is the way they take care of a number of children. Oh, I always wonder how they managed to grow that many kids. I really feel they are superhumans. They are so rich at heart and so generous to the world. Their handwork is awe striking and today I can say that I’m a successful human because of the way my grandparents taught me life.
I always wondered how they can provide me with all the love that I need and also with all the discipline that is required to shape the paths of my life, love and discipline well and fine at the same time. Though old by age, I find them as the strongest people at home.
I am so glad that I’m blessed with such grandparents who actually tend to be quite everything that grandparents are supposed to be.

Our grandparents are our roots that support us at the base underground; though they are hidden underground, our existence without them is impossible. As there can be no present without the past, similarly, the young cannot have their being without the elderly. We forget to comprehend the power of the old that is keeping the world stable. Our very life will come to a standstill without the elderly. 'Old is gold' aptly describes the importance of old people in our life.
Have you ever been hurt? Have you ever undergone the agonizing pains of heartbreak? Have you ever fallen ill? Have you ever felt any dilemma in your life? Have you ever felt lonely and forlorn? My grandparents epitomize the best in my life. They have always given me the best of love, care, and affection. I always felt safe and loved in their protection. They are the best part of my life. Their stories, delicious dishes cooked for me, generosity and acceptance of me the way I am have always made me feel special.
It is very unfortunate that in some families, the grandparents are not given due respect and treated badly. They are discarded by their own children for petty things in life. Such lonely elderly people have to take shelter in old age homes. We must not forget that homes cease to be sweet homes without the elderly. Our grandparents have all the valuable experience and wisdom with them. We must use it to make our life better. Besides, the kind of unconditional love we get from them, no other person or being can give us that type of love. We must hold on to our grandparents in our families and stay in the light of their love and wisdom. We need our grandparents and they also need us!
