Answer:

Outside of the controversy over "The Most Dangerous Game" involves Rainsford enduring a dangerous, unknown Caribbean Sea and Ship-Trap Island and his shocking experience hunted by General Zaroff.  Rainsford's external conflicts create internal conflicts within his character as he struggles to overcome various obstacles while avoiding the evil general. When Rainsford finds out that Zaroff is hunting people all over his island to get a game and plans to hunt him down in a very dangerous game, Rainsford panics and runs into the woods without a plan.  After creating a distance from the general, Rainsford tries hard to pretend and say, "I must strengthen my courage. I must keep my courage. Finally, Rainsford stabilizes and begins to think clearly. Rainsford is able to control his emotions and begins to use his hunting technology to avoid Zaroff.

For example, Rainsford's dreadful experience caused him to challenge his beliefs regarding life and hunting. Rainsford learns that animals sense fear and pain, and he encounters a moral dilemma as to whether he should continue hunting in order to survive.
