Chandragupta and Alexander never fought with each other. It was Chandragupta fighting with Seleucid or Seleucus Nicator in 305 BC. When Alexander arrived in India (around 330 BC), he faced a local ruler of Punjab named Purushottaman (more commonly known as Porus) in the Battle of Hydaspes.
