In 40 litres mixture of milk and water, ratio of milk and water is 3 : 1. How much

let it be , milk :3x and water :x

so, 3x + x = 40

so, x = 40/4=10L

So, milk =10×3 = 30L

and water = 10L

if we add 5 L of water in it ...

then the ratio becomes...

30 /15 =2:1

therefore, we need to add 5 litres of water to that mixture for making ratio 2:1
