Given,

The initial ratio is = 5:7

The final value of the antecedent is = 15

To find,

The final value of the consequent.

Solution,

While solving this mathematical problem we will assume that the final ratio will be equivalent to the initial ratio.

Now, we have to calculate the value of the multiplication factor.

Multiplication factor = Final antecedent/Initial antecedent = 15/5 = 3

New consequent = Initial consequent × Multiplication factor = 7×3 = 21

[Here, antecedent is the first term and the consequent is the second term.]

Hence, the second element will be 21.

SOLUTION

GIVEN

In 5:7, if we increase first element of the ratio up to 15.

TO DETERMINE

The second element

EVALUATION

Here it is given that , In 5:7, if we increase first element of the ratio up to 15.

Let x be the second element

Then by the given condition

5 : 7 = 15 : x

 \displaystyle \sf{ \implies \:  \frac{5}{7}  =  \frac{15}{x} }

 \displaystyle \sf{ \implies \:5x =7 \times 15   }

 \displaystyle \sf{ \implies \:x = \frac{7 \times 15}{5}  }

 \displaystyle \sf{ \implies \:x = 7 \times 3 }

 \displaystyle \sf{ \implies \:x = 21 }

FINAL ANSWER

The required second number = 21
