Let the present age of reshma be x years.
Her age after 5 years = x+5
Her age 9 years ago = x-9
x+5 = 3(x-9)
x+5= 3x- 27
x-3x = -27-5
-2x= -32
2x= 32
x= 32/2= 16
Reshma is 16 years now.
