If Ram is covering 60m in 5 seconds according to the given information.....

There fore Shyam is covering 60-5=55m

in the same time ....

speed=DISTANCE/TIME

55/5=11M/S (ANSWER)

The speed of Shyam would be 11.4 km/h

Step-by-step explanation:

Given,

The speed of Ram = 12 km/h,

∵ 1 km = 1000 meters,

1 hour = 3600 seconds,

\implies \frac{\text{ 1 km}}{\text{ 1 second}}=\frac{1000}{3600}=\frac{5}{18}\text{ meter per sec}

So, the speed of Ram = 12\times \frac{5}{18}=\frac{60}{18}=\frac{10}{3}\text{ meter per sec}

Distance of race = 100 meters,

Thus, time taken by Ram = \frac{Distance}{Speed}=\frac{{100}}{\frac{10}{3}}=30\text{ sec}

Now, in a race the time is allotted equally,

i.e. time taken by Shyam = 30 sec,

∵ Shyam is 5 meters behind Ram,

Distance covered by Shyam = 100 - 5 = 95 meters,

Hence, Shyam's speed = \frac{95}{30} meter per sec,

=\frac{95}{30}\times \frac{18}{5}  km per hour,

=\frac{19\times 6}{10} km per hour,

= 11.4 km per hour
