Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

initial amount of water= 20/100*25= 5 liters

let amount of water to be added be= x

therefore new amount of water in mixture= x+5

new amount of mixture after adding x liters of water= x+25

required amount of water in mixture= 90/100*(x+25)

equation:

x+5=90/100*(x+25)

x+5=9/10*x+225/10

x-9/10*x=(225/10)-5

(10x-9x)/10=(225-50)/10

x/10=175/10

x=175 liters

Therefore 175 liters of water is required to increase the percentage of water to 90%
