In a ∆ABC,DE is parallel to BC and D is the mid-point of side AB.Find AE and BC if DE=6 cm and EC=5 cm.

Answer: BC = 12cm, AE = 5cm

Step-by-step explanation:

In Triangle ABC, D is mid pt. of AB and DE II BC.

Therefore, E is mid pt. of AC ( Mid Point Theorm)

Therefore, AE = EC = 5cm

DE = 6cm (given)

Therefore, since DE II Bc and D is mid point of AB,  BC = 2DE

=> BC = 2 X 6 = 12cm
