In a ΔABC, DE is parallel to BC and D is the mid-point of side AB. Find AE and BC if DE = 6 cm and EC = 5 cm.

by using mid point theorem we derived that

DE = 1/2 BC and D,E are midpoints of the sides AB , AC .

Mid point theorem:

The line segment joining the mid points of two sides of a triangle is parallel to the 3rd side and half of it.
