In a bag there 10p coins, 20p coins and 50p coins. There are two fewer 20p coins than 10p coins. There are five more 50p coins than 1op coins. Atogether, are 60 coins. Work the value of the 20p coins. I have done the equation to find the value of n fisrts like this n +n - 2 + n + n + 5 = 60 then 3n - 2 + 5 = 60 next 3n =60 + 2 - 5, 3n , 3n = 57 then n = 57 / 3 = 19 an d the next step I have substitute n = 19 , n - 2 = 19 - 2 = 17 and n + 5 = 19 + 5 = 24 . The total coins 19 + 17 + 24 = 60 coins. I am not sure if this 1 step is correct

Answer:

17, 20p coins.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given: 10p coins, 20p coins and 50p coins. There are two fewer 20p coins than 10p coins. There are five more 50p coins than 1op coins. Altogether, are 60 coins.

To find: Number of 20p coins.

Let number of 10p coin be n.

So, 20p coin n-2

And 50 p coins are n-5

According to question:

n+n-2+n+5=60\\3n+3=60\\3n=57\\n=19

So, number of 20p coins=19-2

                                         =17
