Answer:

let A be the number of 50 paise coins

and

B be the number of 25 paise coins

so now,

A+B=50 ....(1)

50A+25B= 1300

[ Rs.13 = 1300 paise]

2A+B=52 ....(2)

On subtracting eq.(1) and eq.(2) we get

A=2

so,

B=48

Hence there are 2 coins of 50 paise and 48 coins of 25 paise.

Answer:

since there are 25 coins if there are x number of 50 paise coins,the number of 50 paise coins will be 25-x

the value of the coins will be

50x+25x(25-x)=25x+625.

the value of the coins is rs .50 =850 paise.

therefore 25x+625=850.

or 25x=850-625

=225

or x = 225/25

=9

therefore the number of 50 paise coins is 9 and number of 25 paise coins will be 25-9=16
