Let the no. of 5 Rupee notes be x

and 10 rupee notes be y

the value of X notes of 5 rupee notes =Rs.5x

the value of y notes of 10 rupee notes=Rs.10y

the total no. of these notes is given to be Rs. 1300

:.5x+10y=1300. ...1

y=2x-20

y-2x=-20

20x -10y=-200. ....2

adding equation 1 and 2

5x +10y=1300

+20x-10y=200

=25x. =1500

x=1500/25

x=60

put this value in equation 1

5x+10y=1300

5x60+10y=1300

300+10y=1300

10y=1300-300

10y=1000

y=1000/10

y=100
