Answer:

248 coins

Step-by-step explanation:

Given

the ratio of no. of coins of Rs 1 . 50ps, 25ps = 3:8:20

Let no of 1 rs coin be 3x

no.of 50ps coin be 8x

and no of 25ps coins be 20x

total value of Rs1 = 1×3x = 3x

total value of 50ps = 50× 8x ps = (50×8x)/100 rupees = 4x

total value of 25ps = 25×20ps = (25×20)/100 rs = 5x

total amount = 3x +4x +5x

which must be equal to 372

3x+4x+5x = 372

12x = 372

Thus x = 31

no.of 1 Rs coin = 3x = 3×31 = 93

no.of 50ps coins = 8x = 8×31 = 248

no.of 25ps coins = 20x = 20×31 = 620

Answer:

In a bag, there are three types of coins – 1 rupee, 50 paise and 25 paise in the ratio 3 : 8 : 20. Their total value is Rs. 372.

Then the total number of 50 paise coins = 248

Step-by-step explanation:

Let say 50 Paise coins = 8x

Then 1 ruppe coins = 3x

25 Paise coins = 20x

Value of 1 Rs coins = 3x  Rs

Value of 50 paise coins = (50/100)8x = 4x Rs

Value of 25 Paose coins = (25/100)20x = 5x Rs

Total value = 3x + 4x + 5x = 12x Rs

12x = 372

=> x = 31

50 paise coins = 8x = 8 *31 =  248

option B is correct
