In a basket of 500 fruits 45% are papaya and remaining are oranges. Find
the number of oranges.

Solution :-

→ Total fruits in basket = 500

→ Papaya = 45%

So,

→ Total papaya fruits are = 45% of 500 = (45 * 500) / 100 = 45 * 5 = 225 .

since it is given that, remaining fruits are oranges .

therefore,

→ Number of oranges = 500 - 225 = 275 (Ans.)

Hence, there are 275 orange fruits in the basket .

Another way :-

→ Papaya = 45% .

So, rest (100 - 45 = 55%) fruits are oranges .

then,

→ Total oranges = 55% of 500 = (55 * 500)/100 = 275 (Ans.)
