Let the total number of fruits in the basket be 'x'

Number of oranges in the basket = \frac{2}{7} of x

= \frac{2}{7} \times x

= \frac{2x}{7}

Number of mangoes = x - \frac{2x}{7}

= \frac{5x}{7}

Since, total number of mangoes in the basket are 150.

\frac{5x}{7}=150

x=\frac{150 \times 7}{5}

x = 210

Therefore, the total number of fruits in the basket are 210.

Now, number of oranges

= \frac{2x}{7} = \frac{2 \times 210}{7}

= 60

So, total number of oranges in the basket are 60.

Answer:

Total fruits in the basket = 210

oranges = 60

Step-by-step explanation:

No of oranges in a basket = 2/7

                               basket = 1

                          remaining = 1 - 2/7 = 5/7

                                     (let x be total)

Total no of fruits = 5/7 of x = 150

                                          x = 150 × 7/5  {Reciprocal of 5/7 is 7/5}

                                x [total] = 30 × 7 = 210

                                 Mango = 150 (5/7)

                                 Orange = ?

                                               = 210 - 150

                                               = 60
