 \huge{ \blue{ \mathfrak{ \underline{Given: }}}}

  • Ratio of children and adults = 7:5
  • Total people = 72

 \huge{ \blue{ \mathfrak{ \underline{To \:  find : }}}}

  • Number of children

 \huge{ \blue{ \mathfrak{ \underline{ Solution:}}}}

Put x in the ratio,

  • Number of children = 7x
  • Number of adults = 5x

According to question,

 \large{ \tt :  \implies \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \: 7x + 5x = 72}

 \large{ \tt :  \implies \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:12x = 72}

 \large{ \tt :  \implies \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:x =  \frac{72}{12}}  \\

 \large{ \tt :  \implies \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:x = 6}

Now:

  • Number of children = 7x = 42

 \huge{ \blue{ \mathfrak{ \underline{Hence: }}}}

  • The number of children are 42.
