in a building there are 24 cylindrical pillars the radius of each pillars is 0.28 M and height is 4 cm find the total cost of painting the curved surface area of all pillars at the rate of 10 per metre square

In step 1 =Cylindrical pillars = 24
radius=0.28
height =4cm=0.4 m
rate 10 per m square
CSA=2πrh
=2×22÷7×0.28×0.4
2×22×0.4×0.4
44×1.6
70.4 m
rate of pillars=10×70.4
Rs 704

Hi ,

I think there is an error in units of the height.

It may be like this ,

h = 4m

Dimensions of the cylidrical pillar :

radius = r = 0.28 m

height = h = 4m

number of pillars = 24

curved surface area of a pillar

= 2πrh

CSA of 24 pillars = 24 × 2πrh

cost of painting 1 sq m = Rs 10

Therefore ,

Total painting cost = 10 × 24 × 2πrh

= 10 × 24 × 2 × ( 22/7 ) × 0.28 × 4

= Rs 1689.60
