Given :  there are some humans(2 legs each) thrice as many dogs (4 legs each)and some number of spiders(8legs each)

To find :   how many spiders are there

Solution:

Let day dogs = D

Number of legs of Dogs = 4D

Human thrice as many Dogs

=> Human = 3D

=> Legs of Human =  2 * 3D  = 6D

Total number of legs of Dogs & Human = 4D + 6D   = 10D

Let say Spider =  S

Number of spider legs = 8S

8S + 10D  = 50

8S must end with 0  as all other terms are ending with zero

Hence Either

Spider = 0  or   5

as its given some spiders hence we ignore 0 ,

Spider  = 5  , Dogs = 1  Human = 3

5 Spiders are there
