Answer:

There are 23 passengers buying 50 paise tickets and 25 passengers buying 75 paise tickets.

Number of passengers who bought 50 paise tickets = 2x+5

Number of passengers who bought 75 paise tickets = 3x-2

Since we have given that

Total number of passengers = 48

According to question, it becomes,

2x+5+3x-2 = 48

5x+3 = 48

5x = 45

x = 9

So, Number of passenger who bought 50 paise tickets =

2x+5=2×9+5=18+5=23

Number of passengers who bought 75 paise tickets

= 3x-2=3×9-2=27-2=25.
