Given:

Inititial ratio of men to women= 3:2

Final ratio of men to women= 2:3

Number of passengers left= 25

Number of women boarded= 10

To find:

Total passenger in bus

Solution:

As initial ratio is 3:2, so let the number of men and women( initially) be 3x and 2x respectively

As 25 passengers left, so the number of men left=( 3/5)×25 = 15

The number of women left= (2/5) × 25 = 10

Also, 10 women boarded the bus

So, we can write the number of men now as:

3x-15

The number of women = 2x ( 10 left and again 10 boarded so nullified)

So, the new ratio will be =( 3x-15)/2x

So, (3x-15)/2x = 2/3

On solving the equation, we get the value of x as 9

So, total passengers now will be = 30

Initially there were 45 passengers( 5×9 = 45)

There were 45 passengers initially in the bus and after the change, there were 30 passengers in the bus.
