The food stored will be enough for 42 days.

Explanation:

Given : In a camp ,there is a enough food for 420 students for 50 days .

Actual number of students came up = 500

Here there is inverse relationship between number of days and the students because as the number of persons increases the limit of days the food can be enough decreases.

Equation for inverse variation between x and y = x_1y_1=x_2y_2

Put x_1=420,\ y_1=50 and  x_2=500,\ y_1=y

(420)(50)=500y\\\\\Rightarrow\ y=\dfrac{420\times50}{500}=42

Therefore , the food stored will be enough for 42 days.
