In a camp, there is enough flour for 300 persons for 42 days. How long will the flour
last if 20 more persons join the camp?​

Given data :-

• In a camp, there is enough flour for 300 persons for 42 days.
• 20 more persons join the camp.

Solution :-

According to given

→ 300 × 42 = K ....[1]

{Quantity of flour and persons are constant hence we take K}

Let, remaining days after for joining of 20 persons be 'x'.

→ { 300 + 20 } × x = K ....{2}

Now, from eq. [1] & eq. [2]

→ 300 × 42 = { 300 + 20 } × x

→ 300 × 42 = { 300 + 20 } × x

→ 12600 = 320 × x

→ x = 12600/320

→ x = 39.375 or 39 day (approx)

Hence,flour will last for 39 day for 20 more persons in the camp.
