In a camp there was provision for 50 days. After 14 days 30 men left the camp and the provision lasted for 45 days. How many men were there originally in the camp? (the answer should be 150) Another query is that shouldn't the provisions last for more than 50 days since the no. of men has decreased? Please guide.

Answer:

Yes, your thinking is correct.

There was provision for 50 days but after 14 days 30 men left, so 36 days left. Since since the number of men decrease so the provision last for 45 days,i.e., the number of days increased.

Hope you understand.
