Given

In a Carton ,there are 15rectangular cards of which 7 are green and rest are white,18 pentagonal cards of which 3 are green and rest are white.one card is selected at random from the carton .find the probability that selected card is

Answer

(a) probability (rectangle ) = 15 / 33

(b)probability ( pentagon) =  18 / 33

(c)probability ( a pentagon of green colour ) =  3 / 33

(d)probability ( a rectangle of white colour ) =  8 / 33

number of rectangular cards = 15

number of pentagonal cards = 18

total number of cards = 33

rectangular green color cards= 7

rectangular white color cards= 15 - 7 = 8

pentagonal green color cards = 3

pentagonal white color cards = 18-3 = 15

probability = Number of out comes/ Total number of out comes

(a) probability (rectangle ) = 15 / 33

(b)probability ( pentagon) =  18 / 33

(c)probability ( a pentagon of green colour ) = 3 / 33

(d)probability ( a rectangle of white colour ) = 8 / 33
