SOLUTION

GIVEN

In a certain AP, 2 times the 4th term is equal to 3 times the 7th term.

TO DETERMINE

The value of 13th term

FORMULA TO BE IMPLEMENTED

The {n}^{th} term of an Arithmetic progression is

 = a \:  + (n - 1)d

Where First term = a

Common Difference = d

EVALUATION

Let first term = a and common difference = d

4 th term = a + 3d

7 th term = a + 6d

13 th term = a + 12d

So by the given condition

 \sf{2(a + 3d) = 3(a + 6d)}

 \sf{ \implies \: 2a + 6d = 3a + 18d}

 \sf{ \implies \:  - a  - 12d = 0}

 \sf{ \implies \:  a   +  12d = 0}

 \sf{ \implies \:  13 \: th  \: \: term= 0}

FINAL ANSWER

The value of 13th term = 0
