Given :- In a certain city there are 50 colleges and 400 schools. Each school and collages has 18 peon, 5 clerk and 1 cashier. Each collages in addition has one office superintended and one librarian. The monthly salary each of them is as follow Peon Rs 2,000, clerk Rs 3,000, cashier Rs 3,500, office superintended Rs 4,000 and librarian Rs 4,000 .

To Find :- The total number of posts of each kind in schools and collages taken together.

Solution :-

Each School :-

→ Peon = 18

→ Clerk = 5

→ Cashier = 1

so, in 400 schools we have,

→ Peon = 18 * 400 = 7200

→ Clerk = 5 * 400 = 2000

→ Cashier = 1 * 400 = 400 .

Each college :-

→ Peon = 18

→ Clerk = 5

→ Cashier = 1

→ office superintended = 1

→ Librarian = 1

so, in 50 colleges we have,

→ Peon = 18 * 50 = 900

→ Clerk = 5 * 50 = 250

→ Cashier = 1 * 50 = 50 .

→ office superintended = 1 * 50 = 50

→ Librarian = 1 * 50 = 50 .

then,

→ Total number of Peon in schools and collages together = 7200 + 900 = 8100

→ Total number of Clerk in schools and collages together = 2000 + 250 = 2250

→ Total number of Cashier in schools and collages together = 400 + 50 = 450

→ Total number of office superintended in schools and collages together = 50

→ Total number of Librarian in schools and collages together = 50 .
