In a certain code language if
9×8=10
13×7=144
7×9=?

13×7=144…(2)

1. In both (1) and (2) the first term of the equation (9,13) are equal to the first two digits after the equal to (10,14) respectively. Which means the term on the left hand side is increased by one on the right hand side.

2. Similarly the second term of the equations (8,7) are equal to the third digit on the right hand side (6,4) respectively. Which means 8 and 7 on the left hand side are decreased by 2 & 3 on the right hand side to give the third digit .

Therefore by 1st point 7 is increased by 1 to give 8.

Similarly by 2nd point 9 is decreased by 1 to give 8.

Thus 7×9=88.
