ANSWER:

Let the total no. of questions be X

If he answers 25 Qs, then the no. of Qs left= x-25

But he also answers 2/5 of the remaining Qs.

Thus, the total no. of questions answered

= 25+(2/5 × (x-25))

It is given that he answers 60% of the total Qs

= 60x/100

= 3x/5

Therefore, 3x/5 = 25+ ( 2/5 ×(x-25))

=> 3x/5 = 25 + (2(x-25))/5

= 25+ (2x -50)/5

= (125+2x -50)/5

= (75+2x)/5

On cross multiplication, 5(3x) = 5(75+2x)

=> 15x= 375 +10x

=> 5x= 375.

=> x= 75.

Thus, the total no. of Qs= 75

And the no.of Qs answered = 3x/5 = (3×75)/5

= 45

Thus, he has answered 45 Qs.} Ans.
