Answer:

The monthly salary of Kiran is estimated to be 2500 Rupees.

Step-by-step explanation:

Let us consider the monthly salary of Kiran to be 100%

It is mentioned that he spent 70% already. Hence the remaining amount is 30%.

Out of the 30% he spent;

  1. 55% on CD's and
  2. 1/3 of remaining on notebooks.

After all expenditure he was left with 225 Rupees.

Calculations:

55% of 30 is 16.5, hence, he had spent 16.5% overall salary on CD's. It can be found out using following mathematical formula:

\frac{given \: value}{total \: value}  \times 100 \:  = percentage

To find the given value we can modify the formula and write it as:

given \: value =  \frac{percentage \times total \: value}{100}

substituting the known values we get;

given \: value \:  =  \frac{55 \times 30}{100}

given \: value \:  =  16.5

Hence, 55% of 30% is 16.5%.

Similarly, 45% of 30% is 13.5%.

Now, he had spent 1/3 part of 13.5% on notebooks.

\frac{1}{3}  \times 13.5\% = 4.5\%

So, he spent 4.5% on notebooks. And remaining 9% he saved, that is 225 Rupees.

Finding the value of 1%.

We know the value of 9%, hence we can directly find the total amount using following formula;

total \: value =  \frac{percentage \times given \: value}{100}

total \: value =  \frac{9 \times 225}{100}

total \: value =  2500

Hence, the total monthly salary of Kiran is 2500 Rupees.
