Given :  In a certain population, the proportion of people having blood of types O, A, B and AB are 42%, 28%, 18% and 12% respectively.

blood samples are taken from four people

To Find : probability would you give to the proposition that they are all of different types

Solution:

Blood type O probability  =  0.42

Blood type A probability  =  0.28

Blood type B probability  =  0.18

Blood type AB probability  =  0.12

probability  that they are all of different types

= (0.42)(0.28)(0.18)(0.12)

= 0.00254

= 0.254 %
