In a chemical reaction iron is unable to displace Zinc from zinc sulphate. Why? Whereas Iron

displaces copper from copper sulphate. How? Also write the changes in color observed​

Iron cannot displace zinc from the zinc sulphate because zinc is more reactive metal . More reactive metal can displace less reactive metal from its salt solution.

Blue colour of the copper sulphate solution changes into green colour & then iron nail acquires a brownish look. This is because that iron is more reactive than copper.The following chemical reaction takes place in this activity.

→FeSO 4 +cuSO 4 →FeSO 4 + CU

In this reaction, iron displaces copper from Cu SO 4 solution.
