a) if a perpendicular draw from center to chord it divide chord equally & make 2 right angel ∆

in given right angel∆ base is 8/4=4cm (1/2 of chord)&hight =2cm, then

radius square=(4×4)+(2×2)

=16+4

=20

radius=√20

b) square of 1/2of length of chord={(√20×√20)-(4×4)}

=(20-16)

=4

1/2 of length=√4=2

length=2×2=4
