Answer:

AB

Step-by-step explanation:

The diameter is the longest chord in a circle. Therefore the chord closest to the diameter is longer. Chord AB is just 3 cm away whereas AC is 4.5 cm away therefore, being the shorter one.

Answer:

AB has greater length than AC

Step-by-step explanation:

Given that  AB and AC are chords of a circle

distance of the chord AB from center = 3 cm

distance of the chord AC from center = 4.5 cm

Chord

  • Chord is a line segment which joins the two points on circumference of the circle
  • In a circle the length of the chord is maximum at center
  • as the distance between center and chord increases the length of the chord will decreases

⇒ the chord which is at maximum distance to the center will be shortest chord

⇒ in AB and  AC ,  AC is at maximum distance and AB is at minimum distance

⇒ AB has greater length than AC
