Given :

AB ( Chord ) = 6 cm

OM ( Perpendicular ) = 4 cm

To Find :

The Radius of the Circle

Procedure :

Construction : Join AO

Given, OM is perpendicular to AB

→ AM = MB = 1/ 2 × AB

= 1/2 × 6

= 3 cm ( i.e AM = MB = 3 cm )

From ∆ AMO ( By Pythagoras Theorem )

AO² = AM² + OM²

AO ² = 3 ² + 4²

AO ² = 9 + 16

AO ² = 25

AO = √25

AO = 5 cm

Radius of the Circle is 5 cm
