In a circuit a 10 m long wire giving r resistance is cut into 5 equal parts and these parts are arranged in parallel in a circuit
So
as these parts are are cut so the length that is 10 m is decreased to 2 m as they all have the same length
as we know the resistance is directly proportional to the length of the wire so as the length decreases then the amount of resistance also decreases

Given resistance R
a 10 m wire giving R resistance then it was cut in 5 equal parts arranged all 5 parts in parallel So
1/R=r/5+r/5+r/5+r/5+r/5
1/R=5r/5
1/R=r
R=1/r
And the resultant resistance decreases.
