of the number of three-storeyed
buildings to four-storeyed buildings is
5:3. If the total number of buildings
is 488, find the number of four-
storeyed buildings.​

Ratio of 3 storeyed houses : 4 storeyed houses: : 5:3

Total no. of houses =488

Sum of ratios =3x+5x=488

8x=488

x=61

Ratio of 3 storeyed houses

= 5x =61*5=305 houses

Ratio of 4 storeyed houses =3x=61*3=183 houses
