Answer:

Let the total charge = y

the fixed charge = c

charge per km = x

So if a person travels z km, the charge: y = c + ZX

for 12km, charge = 89

89 = c + 12x -(1)

for 20 km, charge = 145

145 = c +20x

-(2)

solving equation 1 and 2, we get,

c = Rs. 5

x = Rs. 7/km

So the charge is: y = Rs(5 +7x)

For 30km, charge,

y = Rs. (5+7x30)

= 5 + 210 Rs. 215
