Complete Question :- In city a Couriering a parcel costs (1) ₹ 80 per kg and (2) a fixed pick-up service charge of ₹ 10. If Ramesh paid 1290 rupees the weight of his parcel was

A) 10.75 kg

B) 15 kg

C) 16 kg

D) 12.5 kg

Solution :-

Let us assume that, the weight of the Parcel is x kg

given that,

→ 1 kg parcel cost = Rs.80

so,

→ x kg parcel cost = 80 * x = Rs.80x

and,

→ fixed pick up service charge = Rs.10

then,

→ Total amount paid by rajesh = Rs.80x + 10

A/q,

→ 80x + 10 = 1290

→ 80x = 1290 - 10

→ 80x = 1280

→ x = 16 kg (Ans.) (Option C) .

Hence, the weight of Ramesh parcel was 16 kg .
