Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

let males be x ,females be y

we know that x+y =8000(knowing there are no transgenders) .......(1)

increase in males is 10%

there fore new number of males is 110x/100

=1.1x

increase in females is 8%

therefore new number of femalse is 1.08y

new population=1.1x +1.08 y

also that it is given that there is increase by 9% in entire population

so new population = 8720 people=1.1+ 1.08y ................(2)

solving 1 and 2

female population y = 4000

x=4000

initial number of males is 4000

and final number of males is 4400

hi buddy

here is your answer

9percentage \:  = 8000 \times 9 \div 100

 = 720

now \: let \: men \: were \:  \: x

therefore \: women \: were8000 - x

now \: increased  \: in \: men \: are \: 10percentage

 \frac{10 x}{100}

 \frac{x}{10}

 =  \frac{8}{100} (8000 - x)

 =  \frac{64000}{100}  - \frac{8x}{100}

640 -  \frac{2x}{25}

25x -  \frac{20x}{250}  = 80

5x = 80 \times 250

 x = 80 \times  \frac{250}{5}

x = 4000

=400

=320

hope it helps you
