in a class 40 students out of 50 passed with mean marks 6.0 and the overall average marks 5.5 was the average marks of students who failed were?

Total marks of all 50 students = 50*5.5= 275

Total marks of 40 passed students = 40*6= 240

Marks of remaining 10 failed students = 275-240= 35

Average of failed students = 35/10 = 3.5
