A boy attempt 19 question and scored 23 marks. how many questions he attempt correctly and how many questions incorrectly?

50-27=23

Let x be the number of correct answers

Number of wrong answers = 19 - x

Form equation and solve for x:

Total score is 23

5x -3(19 - x) = 23

5x - 57 + 3x = 23

8x = 80

x = 10

Number of correct answers = 10

Number of wrong answers  = 19 - 10 = 9

Answer: He got 18 of the questions correct and 8 of them wrong.
