Step-by-step explanation:

here

total students =28

let A denote students having dog as a pet animal

then n(A)= 8

let B denote the students having cat as pet animal

then n(B)= 6

let (AUB) denote students having both cat and dog as pet animal

then n(AUB)= 10

we have to find students not having any pet

we have

n(A)+n(B)-n(AnB)= n(AUB)

=> n(AnB)= 6+8-10= 4

n(A)-n(AnB)= 8-4= 4

n(B)-n(AnB)= 6-4= 2

total number of students having no pet = 28-4-2-8-6= 28-20= 8

hope it helps ✌
