In a class 90% student were present on a certain day . If there were only 36 student present on that day , how many student were absent on that day.

SOLUTION :

Let the no. of total students be x

A.T.Q.


=> $\sf{\frac{90}{100}\times x = 36}$

=> $\sf{\frac{9}{10}\times x = 36 }$

=> $\sf{9x = 36 \times 10}$

=> $\sf{x = {\frac{360}{9}}}$

=> $\sf{x = 40}$

No. of total students = 40

Therefore,

No. of students absent =

=> No. of total students - No. of total students present

=> 40 - 36

=> 4 students ANS
