Total score for the whole class = (Number of boys + Number of girls) x 71.8
Therefore, (B + G) x 71.8 = 73G + 71B
That is 71.8B + 71.8G = 73G + 71B
71.8B – 71B = 73G – 71.8G
0.8B = 1.2G
8B = 12G
B/G = 12 / 8 = 3/2
