Let the number of Boys be x

So, the number of Girls be 3x / 5

According to Question,

Total Pupils = 40

3x / 5 + x = 40

⇒ (3x + 5x) / 5 = 40

⇒ 8x = 40 × 5 = 200

⇒ x = 200 / 8

⇒ x = 25

Required Number of Pupils -

Boys = x = 25

Girls = 3x / 5 = 3(25) / 5 = 75 / 5 = 15

Hence, there are 25 Boys and 15 Girls in the Class.

 <b><i>Solutions :-

We have,

Number of pupils = 40
Number of girls = 3/5 of boys

Let the number of boys be x
So, number of girls = 3/5 of x

A/q

=> x + 3/5 of x = 40
=> x + 0.6x = 40
=> 1.6x = 40
=> x = 40/1.6 = 25

Now,
Number of boys = x = 25
Number of girls = 3/5 of x = 3/5 × 25
= 15

Answer : Number of boys are 25
