• Let x be the number of benches.
• Let y be the number of students.
• So 5(x – 2) = y --------1
• Also 4x = y – 10 -------2
• So 5x – 10 = y
• So 5x – y – 10 = 0
•     4x – y + 10 = 0
•     Subtracting we get
• x = 20,  
• Also 90 – y = 0
• Or y = 90

So students are 90 and benches are 20.
