In a class If three students sit on one bench will be left. If four students sit on one bench will be left. Find number of students and bench in class. ​

Answer 1

Let no.of benches=x students=y

if 3 students sit on each bench 1 student will be left

y=3x+1..............1

if 4 students sit on each bench one bench will be left

y=4(x-1)...........2

on resolving 1and 2

x=5 y=16

no.of benches=5

no.of students=16
