according to question 30 students failled in both subjects ,so it is clear that only 120 students passed in exam .

ok now ,if 40 students passed in social study and 90. students passed in science. so no.of students passed in both subjects is = (90+40)-120 = 10


Therefore , no. of students passed only in science (not in social studies) = 90 - 10=80
